Haakdoorn Nursery isn’t just about plants. It’s a peaceful, wildlife-rich sanctuary. Over 200 bird species, including Kingfishers, Bee-eaters, Marsh Owls, Paradise Flycatchers, and majestic Fish Eagles, have been spotted on our grounds. Visitors often enjoy sightings of mongoose, monkeys, bush babies, and genets, making a visit here a truly unique garden and wildlife experience.
Beyond our nursery, we proudly support Rooikat Conservation. This initiative tackles environmental issues such as illegal dumping, poaching, and habitat loss, while engaging communities through education programs, snare‑removal walks, and media outreach. As a primary funder, Haakdoorn Nursery helps protect North Gauteng's wildlife and natural habitats, and your support, whether by visiting, purchasing, or recommending us, directly contributes to this vital conservation work, ensuring the beauty of nature we celebrate in our gardens thrives far beyond our gates.
