White Arum Lily
Zantedeschia aethiopica is a timeless indigenous favourite valued for its striking white trumpet-shaped flowers and bold, glossy green leaves. Flowering mainly from late winter through spring, it brings a clean, elegant look to garden beds, water features, and shaded borders.
This versatile plant thrives in moist, well-drained soils and performs exceptionally well in semi-shade, although it will also tolerate full sun in cooler Highveld conditions if kept adequately watered. In Pretoria and Johannesburg gardens, it is widely used around ponds, in woodland plantings, and in large containers where its architectural form can be fully appreciated.
White Arum Lily is easy to grow and reliable once established. It benefits from regular watering during the growing season and occasional feeding to encourage strong flowering. Clumps can be divided every few years to maintain vigour and expand plantings.
A superb choice for adding bold structure and classic white blooms to both formal and naturalistic gardens.
