Watsonia angusta has light green leaves that are shaped like a sword. The plant is useful for damp areas in the garden. The flowers are visited by sunbirds. The flowers produce sweet nectar which fills the lower part of the tube and base of the upper tube. The plant survives dry periods by going dormant, but may be evergreen in some wet habitats. They are fairly easy to grow and very hardy. They grow and flower best if left undisturbed for a few years.
