Echeveria ‘Imbricata’
Echeveria × imbricata, commonly known as Rock Rose, Blue Rose Echeveria, or simply Imbricata Succulent, is a popular evergreen succulent prized for its symmetrical, powdery blue‑green rosettes and compact habit. This striking plant forms tight, overlapping circles of fleshy leaves that maintain year‑round visual appeal, making it ideal for rockeries, containers, succulent gardens, and mixed patio displays.
In spring to early summer, Echeveria × imbricata often produces slender flowering stalks bearing clusters of small, bell‑shaped blooms in shades of pink, orange, or yellow above the foliage, adding seasonal interest to its architectural form. This variety is one of the hardier Echeveria hybrids and tolerates light frost down to around –5 °C when given good drainage and protection from prolonged wet conditions.
With its tidy rosette shape and drought‑tolerant nature, Rock Rose enhances succulent collections and garden designs alike. It performs beautifully in group plantings, accent pots, and rock gardens where its colour and texture can stand out.
